Block was razed long ago, probably around 1920. The Strand Theater was later built on the site, and that building was razed around 1980. |

This is a rare photo of a block that was mentioned as being razed for the construction of a movie theater in the 1920 Springfield Republican. That paper noted that the building was owned by Dr. J. Lyman Kinne and was known as the Rupert block, named after the doctor's native town, Rupert, VT. |
