Dear Fanny: I think you will be as surprised as I was to know that Gertrude has been operated on. She wrote a letter to me yesterday and I suppose one to you too, but I thuought as you were away you might not get it at once. I telephoned to the hospital tonight and learned that she came out well and is resting nicely. I tell you I feel relieved. Her address is Corey Hill Hospital, Brookline, Mass. With love from Marion.
